After yet another disappointing season in IPL, it appears that Royal Challengers Bangalore do not want to waste the prime of Virat Kohli’s career and are making quick decisions. They relieved both Ashish Nehra and Gary Kirsten from their respective duties and have appointed Mike Hesson and Simon Katich as replacements. However, the duo is not direct replacements as Hesson’s role as the Director of cricket operations is a newly created one at the Chinnaswamy.
While Bangalore are not yet through, as reports in TOI suggested, but they are looking to acquire the services of former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar. The 46-year old was recently replaced in the Indian set-up by Vikram Rathour and the decision could see RCB jump in to secure his signature for the next season.
While there is no information on the other applicants that are there on RCB’s list for the role, a source told TOI that Bangar’s association with the Indian and RCB skipper might aid Bangar’s case.
