Steve Smith announced his Test comeback in style as he smashed his 24th Test century in the opening day of Ashes 2019 at Edgbaston. The cricket fraternity showered praise on Steve Smith for his heroic knock as he rescued Australia with his hundred and took them to a fighting total of 284.

Steve Smith announced his Test return in the best way possible and proved why he is the best in the business. Smith, who made his comeback to the Australian side after the infamous ball-tampering scandal, batted all day after Australia collapsed against England. Australia were struggling at 83/3 but Smith rescued his side with his ninth Ashes hundred. Smith began his innings with the crowd booing him, but he made the same crowd applaud for his century. Meanwhile, Steve Smith also became the second batsman after Sir Donald Bradman to get 24th Test hundred in just 118 innings. The entire cricket fraternity reacted on the same and heaped praise on Steve Smith for his magnificent knock.
