South African speedster Dale Steyn has been drafted by the Royal Challengers Bangalore as a replacement for injured Nathan Coulter-Nile. The Australian pacer is suffering from a stiff back and is yet to play a single game for RCB this season. Coulter-Nile missed the first few games for RCB due to international assignments.
Steyn will be making a comeback to the IPL after a gap of two years and would be hoping for an impactful return with the bottom-dwellers. He played his last game for Gujarat Lions back in 2016; he only played a solitary game that season. Steyn was a regular player for RCB between 2008 and 2010, where he played 28 games, picking up 27 wickets.
Long time, no see. Welcome back. 😎

Steyn pulled out of 2017 auction after recovering from a career-ending shoulder injury; he remained unsold in 2018 and 2019 IPL auctions. RCB will hope Steyn’s experience can provide some impetus to the low on confidence side. Their bowling has failed terribly in the season and are in desperate need of some firepower in that department. The franchise's next match is on April 13 against Kings XI Punjab on Saturday
