Indian skipper Virat Kohli was recently adjudged as Wisden's leading male cricketer for the 2018 season. However, the 30-year old has had a rather forgettable season in the ongoing Indian Premier League with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Under Kohli's leadership, the Bangalore-based franchise has failed to win a single game this season and find themselves languishing last in the IPL rankings table.
However, India teammate and KKR spinner Kuldeep Yadav claimed that while the Delhi batsman might've had a below-par outing in the IPL, he is a different player altogether with the Indian national team.
"He's one of the best in the world, has broken so many records I don't think he will be affected by this. Kuldeep said.He has a different hunger when he plays for India. Everyone is highly motivated to do well in the World Cup,” Yadav told PTI sources.
The 24-year-old from Kanpur further opined that a lack of team combination in the Bangalore squad is likely to be the main reason behind RCB's failure.
"With 5000-plus runs, individually he's doing his best. But maybe his team combination is not clicking. He's in great touch and if he keeps doing well like that it will be good for India in World Cup," Yadav added.
