There has been a surprise over how the pitch and the conditions at the Green Fields Stadium were going to be as the last game was hampered by rain and the match between India and New Zealand was reduced to an Eight-over-a-side affair. It was the first time Thiruvananthapuram was hosting an international game and as the venue is gearing up to host its second match of the season, the rain threat is again looming large.
The thunderstorm is expected to hit the Thiruvananthapuram shore at around 5 PM in the afternoon and as per Accuweather.com, the thunderstorm will continue for an hour and the sky will remain cloudy throughout. The excellent sub-air system at the stadium is as good as Chinnaswamy and the ground-staff, as proved in the last time, is the most efficient in the country.
However, there is no prediction of rain at the moment and Windies, after winning the toss, decided to bat first.
