Recently, Michael Vaughan had ignited the debate on Twitter as to who was the better wicket-keeper between MS Dhoni and Jos Butter and unsurprisingly the former won the vote. Today, Buttler tried to pull off a classic MS Dhoni leg-flick block, but failed to stop the ball dead in its tracks.
In 2016 edition of the IPL, in the match between Kings XI Punjab and Rising Pune Supergiant, Manan Vohra attempted a late dab square of the wicket, but he somehow forgot that Dhoni was behind the stumps. Dhoni, who had already read the batsman's switch from the front foot to the back foot, almost like a martial arts expert, kicked out his right leg and stopped the ball - shades of his days as a school team goalkeeper. While it was one of the moments of that edition of the league, Buttler decided to remind people of the same incident almost after two years.

On the second ball of the 14th over, Moeen Ali bowled a ball on the pads to which Virat Kohli went on the back foot to dab it to the third man. However, Buttler, who has, time and again, opened up about his admiration for the Indian talisman, stretched his right leg out to deflect the late dab. However, unlike Dhoni, he failed to stop the ball there as it went in the direction of backward point which allowed Kohli enough time to pick up a single.
However, not a bad try to give MS Dhoni a run for his money.
