Sachin Tendulkar has heaped praise on BCCI for providing the best facilities and infrastructure for the emerging talents following India’s U-19 World Cup triumph. He also hailed the contributions of the coaching staff, which include the likes of Rahul Dravid, Paras Mhambrey and Abhay Sharma.

India’s flawless run in the U-19 World Cup has clearly established a notion in the cricketing world that they are a level above all others competing at the youth level. India went unbeaten throughout the tournament with hardly any team able to sweat them out, whether in the group stages or in the knockouts.

Tendulkar was of the opinion that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) providing the budding talents with state of the art facilities and immense exposure is one of the main reasons that stand the youngsters apart today.

Without any doubt, it’s a terrific contribution

Sachin Tendulkar, on Rahul Dravid's role in the World Cup win

“Credit to BCCI for giving them the infrastructure. In the last 15 years, playing has changed, the standard of fielding has changed. It’s all because of better infrastructure and ground maintenance. It reflects on the field,” said Tendulkar, reported TOI.

The disciplined and determined approach, followed by an impeccable execution of head coach Rahul Dravid and his core staff is also hugely responsible for the youth side’s success today, who stuck 14 months together to churn out this exemplary feat. And Tendulkar was all praise for his old teammate and his support staff.

“Without any doubt, it’s a terrific contribution. It’s working for him (Dravid) along with the support staff, he (Dravid) himself said that. It’s been a joy to work with that. Rahul, (coach) Paras (Mhambrey) and (fielding coach) Abhay (Sharma) have also been a part of it. A big achievement for all of them,” he said.

Like every other World Cup-winning year, this year too, the tournament threw up some exciting prospects like Shubman Gill, Manjot Kalra, Shivan Mavi, Ishan Porel and many more, led by the already famous Prithvi Shaw. The former cricketing legend was immensely pleased by the teamwork and meticulous preparations by the side.

“The way they have prepared themselves, physically, mentally, their planning and the execution were on top. That’s why it was evident that the Indian team stood out from the rest of the competitors,” said Tendulkar.
