VIDEO | Tim Paine challenges Rohit Sharma to hit a six in order to make him a Mumbai Indians supporter

The intrusive coverage of Fox Sports and Channel 7 might have received some flak from many quarters as it is putting every action of cricketers in the public domain, but it is surely gaining more popularity among fans. Today, Fox provided another feeder for the fans to have a laugh or two, when they broadcasted Tim Paine and Aaron Finch’s discussion live, by putting a ticker “Listening”.

Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara didn’t give a chance to the Australians in the first session on day 2 which kept Paine quiet behind the stumps but once both the batsmen returned to the pavilion, Paine started the chatter when Rohit Sharma was on strike. He started talking to Aaron Finch about the IPL in order to distract Rohit Sharma and said he was unsure which team he wanted to support in the next season. However, he added if Rohit could hit a six at the G, then he would be an MI supporter for the upcoming IPL season.

"It's a bit of a toss up between Royals and Indians for me. But if Rohit hits a six now, I'm changing to Mumbai," Paine told Finch, who was fielding at short leg.

After that, Paine took a sly dig on Finch as well and stated that the Victorian had played for almost all the teams in the IPL. Finch, however, replied immediately, “Except Bangalore.”

Then Paine resorted back by repeating the same line, but in an interrogative way - "Except Bangalore?" 

This was not the first time that Paine had been caught in stump mic with his witty, yet hilarious, comments. In the second Test, Paine told Murali Vijay saying, "Murali, I know he's your captain. But you can't seriously like him as a bloke."

That happened on the back of his conversation with Virat Kohli, in which the duo even went chest to chest, but later they played down the incident by saying there was no bad blood between them.
