Australian league cricketer Nick Gooden achieved an extraordinary feat when he he bagged 5 wickets on 5 consecutive balls. Not just that, playing for Yallourn North, Gooden ended up taking a total of seven wickets from just 18 deliveries.

A Victorian third-grade cricketer, Nick Gooden scripted history by taking 5 wickets in 5 balls in a local cricket match. Gooden cleaned up as many as six batsmen, and he also played a role in the last wicket that his team took by running out the batsman. He ended the match with figures of 7/18.

Gooden gave credit to the curator who provided him a green-top wicket for bowling. He admitted that normally his bowling is nothing too special.

“There’s nothing special about it — there’s definitely no pace involved,” Gooden told Weekend Sunrise.

“The general plan when we got out there was just to get off as quick as we could so we could get on the frothies. I said to the boys ‘let’s just roll through these guys and get off and have a beer’. I think we were having a beer at about three o’clock,” he added.

This was Gooden’s first match since December as he was sidelined due to injury for the most part of last year.
