After a two and half hour delayed start in the third and final Twenty20 International, New Zealand’s bowlers called the shots on a sluggish surface to restrict India to a sub-par score of 67 runs in the stipulated eight overs. Not only were their bowlers brilliant, but their fielders also maintained a high standard to put India in troubled waters at the half-way mark of the innings.
With only 30 runs on the board in the fourth over, India looked to be in trouble. It was further compounded by Virat Kohli's dismissal, who mistimed a shot while trying to pull over mid-wicket as the ball didn't come short enough to go over the fence, finding Boult at the mid-wicket region. Though it seemed like an easy take it wasn't actually one, as Boult’s reaction suggested that he didn’t see the ball properly. Nonetheless, the catch took a severe toll on the Indian side as they failed to muster enough steam following that and ended up piling a paltry total.
But the brilliance of bowlers and Kohli’s tactical genius meant India ended up winning the series 2-1 to add to their already-overflowing trophy cabinet.
