WATCH | Sanju Samson competes with Dwayne Smith for laziest run out

Sanju Samson may be one of the best upcoming cricketers in India but despite his abilities, he is far from a finished product. In a match against RPS, Samson channeled his inner Dwayne Smith as the Delhi batsman was run out after he decided to complete a quick run by jogging across the pitch.

In the first over of the match, Karun Nair wanted to steal a quick run off Jaydev Unadkat's bowling, after steering the ball to backward point. Nair took off immediately for a single but Samson did not share the same urgency as his partner. Not only was Samson running too wide of the wicket, he didn’t seem to be in any hurry to get to the striker's end.

More importantly, the lazy running cost Samson dear as Ben Stokes made no mistake in knocking down the stumps with a direct hit, to send Samson back to the hut.

In fact, the lazy running seems to be in vogue in the ongoing IPL. Just a few days back Dwayne Smith pulled a similar "manoeuvre" for the Gujarat Lions and Rishabh Pant was just caught day dreaming for Delhi in the same game.
