Faf du Plessis is all set to leave the ongoing IPL to join his national side, South Africa, as they begin preparations for their 3-match One Day International series against England which commences on the 24th of May. The South African took to Twitter to break the news of his departure to his fans.

Rising Pune Supergiants are on cloud nine after their 3rd straight win against the Sunrisers Hyderabad side on Saturday but the Pune side is definitely going to miss Faf du Plessis as they continue their journey towards securing the playoff spot. The South African is leaving his franchise to join his Proteas teammates ahead of a series against England.

The 32-year old made only two appearances in the tournament owing to the brilliant performance by the foreign contingent of the franchise that devoid him of valuable opportunities.

The South African side is scheduled to play 3 One Day Internationals along with two practice matches. The warm-up games will be played on the 19th and 21st of May while the series starts on 24th May.

The Protean side also features AB de Villiers and David Miller who will leave their respective franchises in coming days on their international duty. Rising Pune Supergiants still have to play two more group games in the IPL and would be looking to win both to stay second in the IPL standings.
