New Zealand used the most amusing tactics to unsettle AB de Villiers

When AB de Villiers is in the mood, there are very few things in the world which can stop him. The Proteas skipper was certainly in the mood at the Seddon Park during the fourth match of the five-game ODI series, and New Zealand had to try an unconventional method to distract him.

The staff at the ground played AB de Villiers', who is a talented musician as well, hit song during a break in play. However, the attempt did not work as AB de Villiers sang along with them on his way to a brilliant 72, which included an outrageous reverse hook shot!

"I was singing along. No one picked it up but I was actually playing a bit of air guitar on my bat as well. I thought I'd be in the highlights package. I love it. They've got to do it more often,” de Villiers said with a laugh after play, reported Cricket.com.au.

When asked about his reverse pull shot, which has gone viral on social media, de Villiers said, "They bowled pretty well at the end and even though we got hold of them, I wasn't expecting that ball. I just adapted to what I saw and luckily I got it in the middle."

But his special knock was not enough for the South Africa side as New Zealand riding on a brilliant knock of 180 runs from Martin Guptill,  chased down the target of 280 runs in just 45 overs with seven wickets in hand. The win levelled the series for the Kiwis at 2-2 with the decisive 5th ODI set to be played in Auckland on March 4.
