MS Dhoni's presence of mind was evident when he made his crease after stepping out for a wide Devendra Bishoo delivery that could have resulted in his dismissal. Dhoni went on to score 78 that helped India post 251 runs on the board which was enough for registering a second win in the series.

MS Dhoni is known for his brilliant presence of mind on the field and has affected multiple run-outs and stumpings during the course of his career. However, this time the former Indian skipper saved his own wicket with his on-field presence.

India looked to be struggling in the 40th over with just 151 runs on the board and needed Dhoni to stay till the end and finish the innings for the Men in Blue. Devendra Bishoo was called into the attack in the 41st over to keep the Indian batsmen in check and he did just that giving away two singles on the first two deliveries.

On the third delivery of the over, the Windies spinner tried to outsmart Dhoni as he saw the Indian coming down the pitch and bowled a wide delivery that was out of the former Indian skipper's reach. However, Dhoni was attentive enough to know that trying to play the ball could result in his dismissal and avoided the delivery completely. The 35-year-old also managed to return back into his crease before the wicketkeeper could realise that a stumping chance was on offer. which resulted in the ball being called a wide and India was awarded an extra run as well as an extra delivery.

Eventually, the umpire called the ball a wide and India was awarded an extra run to go along with the extra delivery.

The 35-year old then accelerated his innings brilliantly to help India to a total of 251 runs that proved enough for the Men in Blue to clinch a 93-run victory in the third ODI and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
