WATCH: Virat Kohli takes another bizarre review

Virat Kohli's troubles with the DRS don’t seem to be ending anytime soon as the Indian skipper wasted two reviews without any success today. Although it was clear that Umesh Yadav’s delivery had missed Steve Smith's leg-stump, Kohli went for a review, only to see it denied - yet again.

After dismissing David Warner, Umesh Yadav kept putting the ball in the right line to trouble the Aussie duo of Steve Smith and Shaun Marsh. In the 39th over of the game, a ball struck Smith in the pads, and the entire team went up appealing for the wicket. But it didn’t have any effect on the umpire who turned down the appeal. Virat Kohli went for a review immediately.

The replays suggested that it was far from the middle-stump and the ball was sliding well down the leg stump, not even on the line of the leg-stump. It was not the first unsuccessful review of the day as Virat Kohli and co. had wasted one in the morning session as well.

In the first session of the day, Ashwin’s off-break went past Warner’s bat. But taken in by the sound of the bat hitting pad, the Indians reviewed the umpire’s decision for a caught behind appeal, but replays confirmed that there had been no contact between bat and ball.
