Ben Duckett takes a dig at R Ashwin on his move to Worcestershire

Soon after PCA's announcement that Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had signed for English County side Worcestershire, England batsmen Ben Duckett took a subtle dig at the Indian spinner. Ashwin is likely to play his maiden county match against Gloucestershire on August 28.

After not being selected for India's limited overs squad against Sri Lanka, the Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been picked by English County club Worcestershire to play county cricket in England, as announced by the Professional Cricketers Association (PCA).

However, soon after the news of Ashwin playing in the Worcestershire county club came out, England batsman Ben Duckett, who plays for Northamptonshire Cricket Club, tweeted and trolled Ashwin cleverly.

Northamptonshire, where Duckett plays his cricket, have already played both their matches against Ashwin's Worcestershire this season, and therefore will not be able to test the skills of Indian offie in English settings.

MSK Prasad, chairman of selectors, had long-established the fact that Ashwin has been cleared by the BCCI to play for Worcestershire. Further, the confirmation of the return of Cheteshwar Pujara to the county circuit with Nottinghamshire was also given.

"Cheteshwar Pujara and R Ashwin will be playing county cricket. Ashwin is part of other formats too, so it is a blessing in disguise for both of them because we will have a full fledged tour of five Tests in England next year," said Prasad.

"So it is always good to play and get that first-hand feel of the conditions. We knew they have been contacting our players but from a selection point of view they have been rested first, and then they have been given consent by the BCCI to go and play county cricket."

Ashwin will probably make his county debut against Gloucestershire on August 28 and there is a possibility that he might face his fellow countryman Pujara when his side goes up against Nottinghamshire on September 5.
