With Pune struggling in the game, needing 76 runs off 36 balls, Dhoni decided it was time for him to leave a mark on the Supergiant's season. On the fourth delivery of the 15th over, Siddarth Kaul fired in a great delivery in the blockhole but what he did not know was that Dhoni was anticipating that delivery.
The former Pune captain got his bat under the ball and got his bottom hand into play and struck it with full force. The ball went for a maximum but never got over 10 feet off the ground. Even though that was just the beginning of the "Dhoni show", the shot was arguably the best one of the three big ones that Dhoni got on the day. It was only fitting that Dhoni was the one who scored the winning runs with a boundary on the last ball to secure a second successive victory for the home side.
