In a moving gesture, members of Team India sent Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi a Virat Kohli ODI jersey with their signatures on it and the words, 'Shahid Bhai, best wishes, always a pleasure playing against you'. Afridi retired recently following a long tussle with the PCB over a farewell T20I.

‘Boom-Boom’ Afridi, as he popularly known, walked into the game's history books with a then world record 37-ball ODI hundred against Sri Lanka in a tri-series in Nairobi in 1996. The dynamic all-rounder was popular with Indian cricketers and fans alike.

Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Ashish Nehra, Jasprit Bumrah, Suresh Raina, Pawan Negi, Mohammed Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, R. Ashwin, Hardik Pandya, former coach Ravi Shastri, among others, autographed the jersey.

The gesture earned Kohli & Co praise in Pakistan.

I admire Kohli. It only he is great Batsmen but a great Human being and being aggressive in the field is his Class!!
