WATCH | Mohit Sharma puts in hilarious dive after misjudging catch

The IPL produces some of the best cricketing moments of the year but it also provides some hilarious fails as well. In the ongoing match between KXIP and SRH, Mohit Sharma was guilty of adding to the latter category when he mistimed a catch and ended up missing the ball by a good distance as well.

Having restricted Hyderabad to just 50 runs off 9 overs, Punjab picked up two quick wickets in the 10th as Hyderabad slumped to a score of 54/3 at the midway point. On the first ball of the very next over, the visitors had a chance to put even more pressure on the home side. Naman Ojha attempted to sweep KC Cariappa but could only manage a top edge as the ball went towards long leg.

Hashim Amla, fielding at short fine leg, made the run back for the ball but Mohit Sharma gave the call for the catch after running all the way from deep square leg. The pacer appeared to be favourite for the catch but having gotten there, Sharma decided to put in a dive for the catch. The problem was that the ball was heading right at him. The dive just took the Indian past the flight of the ball and as he hit the ground the ball landed behind him. What was worse was that Hyderabad even got a four out of it, having not scored one for 21 balls. Ravi 'tracer bullet' Shastri showed the state of Indian commentary by calling it a good effort when it was anything but one.
