Virender Sehwag: Not scoring a 400 in Tests is the only regret in my career

In a glorious International career spanning over 14 years, Virender Sehwag gave many sleepless nights to bowlers with his sublime strokeplay, which only could be termed as riotous. With the ability to clear the fence on a regular interval, Sehwag was once considered as a prized scalp for the bowlers, even higher than Sachin Tendulkar. 

He has two Triple centuries to his name and slammed West Indians all around to score the world’s second double century in ODIs after Sachin Tendulkar. After taking retirement from cricket, Viru has been involved in the commentary box for Star Sports.

During a session with his former Teammates Deep Dasgupta and VVS Laxman while commentating for the third Test between India and New Zealand, when asked about any regrets in his career, Viru said that he always wanted to score 400 runs in an innings in Tests and that missing out on it was his only regret.

The diminutive right-handed batsman was expected to score 400 runs in the match against South Africa at Chepauk in 2008, but he perished to Makhaya Ntini after scoring 319 runs.

When Laxman was asked the same question, he replied that he had no regrets and was privileged to have played for the country for 16 years.
