Indian captain Virat Kohli and English all-rounder Ben Stokes got into a verbal spat after the latter was dismissed on day 1 of the third test in Mohali. After the Englishman was dismissed by Jadeja, the duo were in the thick of things and the umpire had to intervene to calm things down.

England got off to a bad start after they were reduced to a score of 87/4. Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes were tasked with getting England back into the game, but Stokes had a rush of blood to the head as he tried to go after Jadeja by coming out of his crease. However, he missed the ball and was stumped by Parthiv Patel.

As Stokes was making his way back to the pavilion, he turned back and had a look a Virat Kohli. The Indian captain appeared to say "What?" to the Englishman. After a few more words were exchanged, the umpire decided to intervene and Stokes made his way back. It is still unclear as to what was actually said at the moment, but it was something that riled up both players.

Kohli has always been vocal and animated on the field, and the incident might provoke some more moments in the upcoming days of the Test match.
