According to a report in , the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has consulted top executives of the cricket development wing, national selectors, and coaches at NCA conduct separate camps for spinners and wicketkeepers at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. The spinners’ camp is expected to be held after Indian team’s return from West Indies in August, while the wicketkeepers’ camp is likely to be held in three phases.
Former spinner Narendra Hirwani, who is the spin bowling coach at NCA, will lead the camp for the spinners with 10 to 12 leading spinners expected to attend the camp. The report by also says that Indian team regulars like R Ashwin and Amit Mishra will also be asked to attend the camp to polish their skills before the start of the gruelling Test season.

With NCA not having a full-time wicketkeeping coach, former Indian keeper Kiran More has been roped in by the board to lead the camp for the glovesmen. The selectors have also been asked to identify suitable successors for Mahendra Singh Dhoni in Tests.
