"Ashish Nehra has proved age is just a number. He is mixing his deliveries well and bowling craftily. He has done really well for India so far," Gavaskar told NDTV.
The left-arm quick provided India the first breakthrough in the third over, when he knocked back Mohammad Mithun's off stump. Nehra was able to generate a lot of swing with the new ball, and that augurs well for India. Later in his spell, he dismissed Mahmudullah and Mashrafe Mortaza in consecutive deliveries in the 17th over, as Bangladesh fell short by 45 runs.
Since making his comeback to the national team after five years, Nehra has once again established himself in the shortest format of the game, and will be spearheading India's seam attack in the upcoming World T20, specially with Mohammed Shami struggling with his fitness.
Since his return against Australia, in the T20 squad Down Under, Nehra has picked up 10 wickets in 7 games.
