Sunil Gavaskar cited Virat Kohli’s faulty batting technique as the reason for his problems outside off-stump. "Virat's stance is not correct on this kind of wicket. With his feet wide apart, his balance is also not fine," Gavaskar said on STAR Sports.
Virat Kohli once again got out to a delivery outside off-stump as Morne Morkel got rid of him for 55-ball 22. Kohli’s departure put India in a difficult position of 116/5 in the post-lunch session. Kohli’s wide stance approach had worked for him in Australia, after a disastrous Test series in England. The 27-year-old, however, only has one century to show in his last ten Test innings.
Kohli had made 1 and 29 in his two innings in the first Test at Mohali. With Kohli’s problems outside off-stump once again coming under the spotlight, the captain must find another way to prove his critics wrong.
