The Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin said on Saturday that he is ready for a new beginning in the Indian Premier League (IPL), with the draft for top players from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) scheduled to be held on December 15 at Mumbai. Ashwin also joked that he will play tennis ball cricket, if he doesn’t get picked in the IPL auction.

With Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) suspended from the IPL for the next two seasons, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) welcomed Sanjiv Goenka’s New Rising group with the Pune franchise and the Delhi-based Intex group with the Rajkot franchise to the next two seasons of IPL jamboree on December 8 in Delhi.

After the draft for the top players was scheduled to take place on December 10 at the Mumbai Cricket Association’s clubhouse in the Bandra-Kurla Complex, Indian off-spinner took to the micro blogging site Twitter to express his feelings about the draft.

Ashwin also said that if he is not picked in the draft, then he is ready to go the auction.

Along with Ashwin, the likes of MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Suresh Raina, Brendon McCullum, Ajinkya Rahane, Steve Smith and Shane Watson would be the leading players available in the draft.

Ashwin’s followers on Twitter also jumped into the conversation by asking the off-spinner some fascinating queries.

With the draft scheduled to be held on December 15, it will be interesting to see who will pick the lanky off-spinner.
