After beating compatriot BM Rahul Bharadwaj in the quarter-final in straight games 21-9, 21-16 on Friday, the 18-year-old Indian shuttler continued his dream run in the semis as well. Sen won the semi-final in straight games to qualify for the summit clash which will be played on Sunday. Sen, who had also won the Belgian Open last month, will meet Japan’s Yusuke Onodera in the final.
The semi-final clash started on an exciting note as both the players had a six-point each at one point in the first game. However, the Indian asserted his dominance after that and at the mid-game break, he was ahead by 11-6. Although Felix tried to reduce the margin, Sen was quite brilliant to take the first game 21-12.
The second game was pretty lopsided as Sen had an early lead of 8-0 and nothing worked for the Swedish shuttler and Sen took the game 21-9 and booked his place in the finals by winning the match, which continued for 33 minutes, in straight games.
